Greenville, SC Chapter of theSociety for Human Resource Management
Dear HR Director:
We have a new James F. Byrnes High School Classroom Career Speakers Program planned for this year. Presentations will be to our Economics classes (Seniors) - a new class is offered every 9 weeks. Currently, I am seeking speakers for September (middle of first 9 weeks) to cover 8 classes. If a professional can't commit to a back-to-back 2-hour presentation slot (2 classes), I will also have time slots for a single 1-hour presentation (1 class). This would be a great opportunity for an HR representative to spotlight his/her company while sharing "Job Search" and "How to Get Hired" information. Here is the program detail:
Human Resources/Recruiting/Hiring/Personnel representatives from area businesses will be recruited to speak on the topics of Job Search and “How to Get Hired.”
The presentation will be 1 hour in length and will be offered every 9 weeks for “new” Economics classes. Teachers schedule the date and class period with CDF based on speaker availability.
A speaker will present to a first and second-period class or a third and fourth-period class (this would be a 2-hour time commitment for the career speaker).
Speakers will use “The Job Hunting Handbook” (48 pages) as a resource for talking points.
Students will be given a copy of “The Job Hunting Handbook” used during the session and for follow-up work by classroom teachers.
Career Speakers will be provided a “thank you” gift.
