Standard PTO Amounts

    Hello All,

    I was hoping I could gain some feedback on your standard PTO/Vacation Policies. Our current policies are as follows

    Months 0 – 48 Months (Years 1 – 4) = 80 hours (10 days)

    Months 49 – 120 Months (Years 5 – 10) = 120 hours (15 days)

    Months 121 + (Years 11+) = 160 hours (20 days)

    May accrue a maximum of 1.5 times their accrual rate

    I'm hoping to gain about 10 responses that could give me a benchmark for the upstate.

    We (Greenville-Spartanburg Airport) are a bit different, but here are our plans:

    Annual Leave

    Years in Employment    Full-Time   Part-Time

    0-5                                               80                  40

    6-15                                            120                60

    16+                                              160                80

    Sick Leave

    Full-time employees 96 hours per year

    Part-time 48 hours per year


    Holiday Pay (not eligible for PTO)

    Full-time employees that are not differential - 11 days (88 hours total)


    Paid Time Off (not eligible for Holiday Pay)

    Full-time employees that are differential 64 hours (does not roll over)


    Differential employees are those that do work holidays so therefore they do not get the day off with pay.

    Exempt employees also receive Professional Leave

    Salary Levels 20 and higher     40 hours/year

    Salary Level 16-19                     24 hours/year

    Salary Levels 1-4                        16 hours/year


    Exempt employee also have unlimited Administrative Leave which can be taken in increments of 2 hours.

    We still have two buckets:

    Vacation:           

    Year of Hire through year 4          3.0679 hours per payroll (80 hours annualized)

    5th Anniversary – 9th Year             4.6153 hours per payroll (120 hours annualized)        

    10th Anniversary+                            6.1538 hours per payroll (160 hours annualized)

    Sick:     

    Each employee receives sick days per year.  Those who are assigned to a weekday shift are provided 40 hours of Sick time, prorated year of hire.  Those who are assigned to a weekend shift are provided 36 hours of Sick time, prorated year of hire.
