Engage as a Volunteer Leader: Together Forward @Work
Together Forward @Work, SHRM’s brand new call to action focused on driving racial inequity out of the workplace, officially launched this week. This mission is supported by a microsite that features groundbreaking research, resources on racial bias and conversation starters to help facilitate conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. In addition to the microsite, SHRM has created a Blue Ribbon Commission on Racial Equity. This coalition of top business executives, academics and SHRM volunteers—from both within and outside HR—will establish bold, measurable goals and accountabilities that will guide workplace leaders in creating positive workplace cultures for Black employees and other people of color. Lastly, in support of the Together Forward @Work call to action, SHRM is releasing a TV spot, “ A Show of Hands,” on major news networks that showcases the diverse hands that build the American workforce. Learn more and take the Together Forward @Work Pledge by visiting Togetherforwardatwork.shrm.org. In addition, resources for SHRM affiliates and volunteers to spread the word to the HR community can be found on the Volunteer Leader Resource Center (VLRC).
