Purpose Statement: To support a climate of diversity (individuals who bring new perspectives and backgrounds to the table), equity(fairness in access, opportunity, and advancement), and inclusion (empowering all employees).

We work to:

  • Assist members in understanding and responding to changing social and workforce demographics.
  • Recognize best practices in diversity and inclusion
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to support diversity and inclusion initiatives.

    Our vision is to be recognized as the HR subject matter experts throughout Greenville - help make this vision reality!

    • Promote GSHRM & SHRM through Social Media
    • Take and post photos and videos
    • Leverage technology to widen GSHRM's reach
    • Help get the word out about GSHRM to the business community
    • Promote the HR Awards

    • Planning Coffee & Conversation activities
    • Running the mentor program
    • Using social media to promote GSHRM

    Professional Development Committee

    Dedicated to excellence in the profession and want to help others achieve HR greatness? 

    Join this committee to:

    • Promote professional SHRM certification
    • Learn about new SHRM certifications & education options
    • Support joint programming such as the Employment Law Series
    • Identify in-demand topics and top-notch speakers
    • Develop small groups connections by HR interest area, geography, etc.
    • Offer scholarships


    Member Relations Committee (Seeking New Members!)

    There is nothing more important than our members. Help GSHRM remain the "HR membership organization of choice" by using your talents to:

    • Recruit new members
    • Update and provide orientation
    • Provide on-boarding and integration assistance
    • Plan growth and retention
    • Conduct surveys and polls
    • Work on GSHRM/SHRM dual membership outreach
    • Operate GSHRM Cares

    GSHRM loves our sponsors - help us show it through outreach and excellence in customer service. 

    Find new sponsors and keep current sponsors coming back for more with the right mix of benefits.

    The Workplace Inclusion team looks for gaps between employers and employees and does the heavy lifting lessen the barriers in-between.

    Current initiatives include

    • Veterans (and Military Spouses) At Work 
    • Disability Inclusion
    • Getting Talent Back to Work (people with criminal backgrounds)
    This group lead GSHRM's efforts to win the 2018 SHRM Pinnacle Award. Talk about a dynamic group!

    The Policy Action Center is the best resource for staying informed on HR- related federal legislative proposals that Congress is considering. Here you can:

    • Send timely communications to lawmaker’s Washington, DC office by email
    • Read and respond to timely Calls to Actions as it relates to HR public policy issues
    • Find contact information for federal elected officials
    • Find election information and candidates for SC
