New SHRM research highlights the connection between civil workplaces and positive business outcomes. In this session, participants will explore what it means to have a civil conversation and use the Rising Team interactive software* to practice one together! *Participants will need their computer or mobile devices with wifi connected to access the Rising Team Platform for the interactive part of the session. Learning Objectives:
- Learn what it means to have a civil conversation: Explore the characteristics and elements that define a respectful and understanding dialogue.
- Understand why civility in the workplace matters: Recognize the importance of maintaining a civil environment for effective collaboration and team cohesion.
- Gain practical experience in civil dialogue: Practice engaging in conversations that prioritize empathy and understanding, enhancing team dynamics.
Speaker Bio:
Jami Zakem is the Chief Customer Officer at Rising Team, dedicated to helping leaders and teams achieve greater connection and success. She previously served as VP of Customer Success at Yelp and Eventbrite, where she scaled Yelp’s team from 0 to nearly 300 employees and supported its journey from startup to IPO. A certified coach through the Hudson Institute, Jami has empowered hundreds of leaders and provided leadership training to companies like OpenAI, LinkedIn, and Microsoft. Jami lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two children.

This program has been pre-approved for 1 hour of SHRM re-certification credit. Poinsett Club Dress Code: Business casual. For gentlemen, a necktie is not required. Ladies shall dress appropriately. No jeans, shorts, or tennis shoes will be allowed. Cell phone use is not allowed in the Club.
