GSHRM HAS Won the Inaugural SHRM Workplace Impact Award!
We are THRILLED to announce that Greenville SHRM has won the SHRM Pinnacle Award at the 2021 Volunteer Leader Business Meeting! This year SHRM created a new category - The Workplace Impact Award - and Greenville SHRM is the first ever to receive it in recognition of our program for transitioning Veterans, "Cracking the Code: HR Intel on Civilian Employment."
Cracking the Code is a program that was created to ease the transition of Veterans from military service to civilian careers. It is a one-of-a-kind program for military Veterans that gives them a behind-the-curtain view of what it takes to successfully transition into the civilian workplace. It was developed by local GSHRM-affiliated military Veterans and civilian HR professionals to provide a comprehensive look at best practices, starting with the job search and continuing through the first year of employment.
Beginning January 1, all SHRM chapters around the country may begin adopting Cracking the Code for their use.
A BIG, HUGE, WONDERFUL THANK YOU to each of you for your continued support of Greenville SHRM. We are truly making a difference for our community through our work and our volunteer efforts.
GSHRM's Workforce Inclusion Committee created Cracking the Code: HR Intel On Civilian Employment for military Veterans, Guardsmen, and Reservists to learn the "inside scope" on finding and thriving in civilian employment directly from HR professionals.
Too many Veterans today find themselves underemployed. This course helps people transitioning from military service to the civilian workforce identify and land careers that are the right fit.
This two-part, 3-hour self-paced video course is free and can be accessed here:
The Pinnacle Award is the most prestigious honor that SHRM chapters and state councils can receive. Created in 1991, the Award honors programs that exceed the standard activities of SHRM affiliates in enhancing HR Management.
