This session will discuss Engaging in Healthy Conflict while at work. We all experience conflict, and our default reactions are fight or flight—we argue and defend, or we avoid the conflict altogether. This session will reframe conflict into a positive force and cover how to make conflict healthy, productive, and manageable. First, we will discuss why to engage in conflict and how to mitigate the destructive impact conflict can have on our wellbeing, our relationships, and our workplaces. Then we will discuss when to engage in conflict and when it is actually a better choice to step away. Finally, we will discuss how to engage in conflict and some tools and strategies that you can apply to the conflicts you are dealing with today.

Learning Objectives:

1. To define conflict and understand its potential benefits.

2. To discuss when to engage in conflict and when to step away.

3. To add 5 tools and strategies for resolving conflicts to your toolkit.
