Description: 

Attendees will learn strategies and best practices for addressing microaggressions and fostering inclusive environments. The session will include breakout groups where attendees will discuss how to address real-world scenarios. This interactive format will equip HR professionals with practical tools to create more inclusive and respectful workplaces. 

Learning Objectives:

- Techniques to promptly respond to and address microaggressions in the workplace.

- Strategies to facilitate open and curious conversations amongst teams after conflict.

- Proactive tools to implement that foster a more inclusive organizational structure.

Speaker Bios:

Ashley Wilson is the Vice President and Human Resource Business Partner at Southern First Bank, with over a decade of experience in organizational development and talent management. Her expertise includes organizational design, leadership coaching, project management, and facilitation. Previously, she worked at Clemson University as a Training Manager and Talent and Organizational Development Specialist. Ashley holds a master’s in business administration and an undergraduate degree from Clemson University. She is a certified coach for DISC, Predictive Index, and Enneagram, and a certified Lean Six Sigma Facilitator. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Blake, and their two dogs, Hank and Zoey.

Kya Hazzard is a seasoned HR professional with over a decade of experience in the field. Armed with a SHRM-CP certification, she has effectively served on numerous boards and committees, contributing to the development of strategic initiatives and organizational growth. Leveraging this extensive background in human resources, Kya has recently taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer at a leading HVAC and plumbing company, High Caliber Solutions LLC. In this capacity, they continue to drive operational excellence and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

HR Certification Credit: GSHRM is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP® recertification activities. This program is pending for 1.0 hour of SHRM re-certification credit. Certificates will be emailed to those in attendance after the meeting along with a Feedback Survey.
