Description:

In this 1-hour workshop, participants will learn to recognize hiring biases, understand hiring manager perspectives, identify blind spots on both sides, and use data to influence outcomes. The session focuses on shifting HR from a transactional role to a strategic partner, building trust, and improving collaboration. Attendees will leave with actionable checklists, coaching questions, and tools to drive clarity, communication, and better hiring decisions.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify Common Hiring Biases: Understand and recognize common biases (explicit and implicit) that hiring managers might exhibit during the hiring process and the impact thereof.

2. Understand the Hiring Managers Perspective and Being Empathetic: Sometimes HR comes in real hot! Let’s cut the tension between HR and Hiring Managers and build bridges, not walls!

3. Identifying Hiring Manager & HRBP Blind Spots: Explain common hiring manager biases and blind spots while offering solutions and partnership support. And learn 7 common blind spots HR may exhibit that hinders collaboration.

4. Influence Through Data Insights: Why influencing them with recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, diversity statistics) can clear up ambiguity and build credibility with hiring managers.

5. Create a Collaborative Recruitment Partnership: Explore how HR can shift from transactional support to a trusted strategic partner model.

6. Build Lasting Trust Through Collaborative Recruitment Partnership: Explore how HR can shift from transactional support to a trusted strategic partner model and examine ways HR professionals can manage hiring managers’ expectations.

Leoni Michael

Leoni Michael is a corporate executive and thought leader in I/O Psychology and Leadership Excellence.
